Ode to Lord

Years of climbing this mountain
going up and down
Your valleys
Your dumbest dog
reaches a cliff
You say- "Jump - you fool - jump!"
With fear I bark back-
"Lord, you don't really want me to jump!
Why else would you give me this fear?"

Lord smiles and pulls the ground beneath feet.
No option.
Nothing to hold on to.
Free, at last
I fall
I am Yours Lord.
What else could I do?

Dogs are dumb by nature, Lord.
And flamboyant too Your this dog is.
Teach me some of the dog tricks!

Aha! Of course I love You Lord.
How could a dog not love their Lord?
And how could I not await Your return,
day after day,
everyday?

Cookie! cookie!

I have been foolish dog, o Lord!
Enough of teasing Your pet
Time to lick Your feet
and play with Your shoelaces!
