Honorable Infidel!

Whose house do you grace tonight?
Whose bosom do you warm tonight?
Listen Beloved, for sake of your own honor
Let no one know about my yearning for you.
or see how you make me cry.
And let no one have the slightest hint
of our own single secret meeting
Let this be a secret
kept between the lips of lovers
silent, red and throbbing
Else the ways of the world are slick
And neither You nor I can walk on it.
Listen Lord! Walk ever so slightly
May not an inkling of Your coming
or going be heard or known
Hush my infidel Lord!
Don't defame me. Don't desert me.
Except for you, who else do I have?
